Class Descriptions:
Ahonui Level I - "Patience, expressing with tenderness." For ages 6-12. This class is for children who have little to no experience. Keiki, ages 6-12. Will learn the basic steps of hula and other Polynesian dance styles. They will also learn ʻoli, stage presence, and dance. Performance opportunities available.
ʻIke Pono Level 2 - "To know, To feel, to understand." For ages 6-12 that are more experienced. Keiki will continue to refine the basics of hula and other Polynesian dance styles. This class is for children who have had prior experience with Polynesian dancing! Performance opportunities available.
Laulima - "All hands working together. Everyone is willing to do what it takes. Even go beyond the requirements because they feel that everyone is in this together." This class is basic movement and mastery of basic hula steps. Learn, refine, and master basic hula steps, stage presence, basic arm movements, and ʻoli. Performance opportunities available!
Polynesian Classes- This class will explore other island dances of the pacific. We will learn and continue to cover basic steps, dances, and necessary skills from the islands of Tahiti, Samoa, and New Zealand. This is a heart-pumping class where we suggest full-body mobility.
Tehani's Performing Group - This class is invite only. Members will learn more advanced choreography, stage presence and have the opportunity for multiple professional shows!
